Modernizing Critical Water Infrastructure at Bass Lake

Reliable water infrastructure is essential for growing communities, and we’re proud to have contributed to the modernization of a water well site in Bass Lake, California. Our team recently completed the electrical and controls installation for a project designed to enhance system reliability, operational visibility, and remote monitoring capabilities through the implementation of a new Mission Control system.

This upgrade provides the customer with improved control and oversight of critical water system operations, helping ensure dependable service for residents and visitors alike.

Supporting Smarter Operations

As part of the project, our team installed the electrical infrastructure necessary to support the new Mission Control system and associated equipment. The work began with the construction of a 4′ x 6′ concrete equipment pad and the installation of a mounting backboard for the new subpanel and Mission Control panel.

From there, our crews completed all conduit and conductor installations required to power and connect the new system, including:

  • Power for a new 50-amp, single-phase, 120/240V subpanel
  • Power distribution to the Mission Control panel
  • Connections for two level sensors
  • Antenna connections for communications and monitoring
  • Power, instrumentation, and communications wiring terminations

Every aspect of the installation was completed in accordance with project specifications and applicable electrical standards to ensure safe, reliable, and long-term operation.

Comprehensive Electrical and Controls Installation

Beyond equipment installation, the project required a full range of electrical construction services to support the new infrastructure. Our scope included trenching and backfilling for underground raceways, coordination with owner-furnished equipment, and detailed field installation work to integrate all components into a seamless operating system.

To ensure everything functioned as designed, our team also provided on-site startup support, commissioning, and functional testing. This process verified proper operation of the control system, instrumentation, communications equipment, and electrical infrastructure before the system was placed into service.

Enhancing Reliability Through Technology

The completed upgrades provide the customer with a more robust and efficient system. With improved power distribution and enhanced monitoring capabilities, operators now have greater visibility into system performance and the ability to remotely monitor critical infrastructure.

These improvements help reduce operational challenges, support proactive maintenance efforts, and contribute to more dependable service for the community.

Investing in the Future of Bass Lake

What makes this project especially meaningful is its impact on the local community. The Bass Lake water system serves more than 1,000 service connections and supports a population that grows significantly during peak recreation seasons. The system provides water to year-round residents, seasonal homeowners, and the many visitors who travel to the area each year.

We are honored to play a role in modernizing this essential infrastructure and helping prepare it to meet the community’s needs for years to come.

A Successful Team Effort

Projects like this are built on collaboration, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality. We want to thank our crews, project partners, and all those involved for their hard work and dedication throughout the project.

Together, we delivered a reliable electrical and controls solution that helps strengthen critical water infrastructure and supports the continued growth and success of the Bass Lake community.
